That's Chris Kitchen sailing on the 18ft skiff C-Tech with skipper Alex Vallings and bow Joshua McCormack. The trio are going to San Francisco next month to compete in the Mark Foy Trophy and pit their skills against the best of the 18ft skiffs from the USA, not to mention providing the pre-show for the America's Cup!

While there Chris is also going to compete in the West Coast Weta Championships, sailed from Richmond Yacht Club over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of September. This promises to be a great regatta and Chris is pretty excited to get behind the helm of a Weta again. "The competition is going to be tight, with Randy Smyth and Toni Sacco coming from an awesome win at the WetaFest national regatta and Jonathan Weston out to defend his title from last year" explains Chris. Dave Berntsen, the West Coast Weta distributor agrees: "Because you can basically take the boat out of the box and sail, you end up with a very level playing field, but on this exciting, performance platform. It makes for great racing".

If you are keen to be part of the regatta, there are charter boats available, so get in quick and email dave@wetawest.com to secure yours. Chris and Dave will be running training camps on the Thursday and Friday before the regatta starts and the charter boat costs include this period.

NOR and entry form can be found on the Richmond YC website
