4th of July Weta Ocean Adventure

June 25th, 2015

Get your boat ready, because we’re doing it this 4th of July weekend: A supported Weta sailing trip from Ventura 22 miles across the Santa Barbara Channel to Santa Cruz Island.

Here’s the plan:

Friday July 3: You get the day off work and have your boat ready to depart from Ventura marina.
We’ll load your stuff on Vanishing Girl so it will be there at the island when you arrive. After a brief planning meeting, we’ll set sail and then re-group at the island. Once you arrive, we’ll help you secure your boat, welcome you onto Vanishing Girl, and ferry you to the island in the dinghy.

Saturday July 4: Lay day with hiking and picnic at the island. (We have overnight camping permits for Friday and Saturday night.)

Sunday July 5: Pack up and depart Santa Cruz island. We’ll shepherd the fleet home during the spinnaker run back to Ventura, and then help you collect your stuff from Vanishing Girl.

Sound fun? Yeah, we think so too. No boat? No problem. We have two Wetas available for the trip at $600 each. (A long trip like this is best done double-handed anyway, so split the cost with a friend). Or you can ride high and dry aboard Vanishing Girl.
We’ll provide the picnic if you pitch in for groceries.
