Final Day WetaFest USA

April 13th, 2015

FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA

Well - the race is over. Exhausted smiles all around... The race committee did a fantastic job, and as usual the camaraderie and tight racing made for a great event. Congrats to Mike Krantz as our singlehanded and overall event winner, and to Todd and Chloe Hudgins for their win in the double handed class.

I'm also very pleased to announce that Fort Walton Yacht Club has given WetaFest permanent event status. That means that that every year, WetaFest will occur on the second weekend of April. This ensures that WetaFest will have a home to grow to it's full potential, and will allow us to plan our calendars accordingly.

Fort Walton Yact Club, Jon Britt and Dick Hitchcock are taking the reins to drive the continued growth of WetaFest. As we grow from 26 to 50, 75 and 100 participants, this event will require the attention of dedicated professionals to see it grow to it's full potential, and I can't thank them enough for all the hard work at this years event.

Now... on to the Nationals in Duck... Who is going? Rumor has it Smyth will be there, and that WetaFest RC is going to travel to run the event for Jon! Double handed class anyone?
