1000 Hours clocked on the Weta Trimaran

July 02nd, 2015

If my records are anywhere near accurate, and I’m certain they’re at least very close, as of this afternoon I passed the 1000 hour mark on the Weta. For such a lightly built boat it’s held up very well. I’ve been through two sets of sheets, blown out the mast luff buckle twice, had to replace one panel in the furling jib, replace the mainsail clew plate and redo the mainsail halyard strop windings a couple times. That’s about it, save for a busted stern area which was entirely my fault. Not at all bad considering the type of conditions it’s been routinely sailed in, twice or more a week, year ‘round, several hours at a time, for about two years now. It’s definitely starting to show some serious wear and tear, but I think it has some life left in it yet.
