Bob Hyde wins St Francis YC Spring Dinghy

Every dog has their day. Bob Hyde, aka “Squirrel Launcher” won the 2015 Spring Dinghy regatta in the closest competition our class has ever seen out here. Only six boats entered, with most of them having won this event in past years.

Everglades 300 Challenge

When Linda finishes she will be the first solo woman to complete the Everglades Challenge as well as the first Weta. This is no leisurely sail and last year's winner - former Olympian Randy Smyth has been contributing to her boat optimization and preparation.

Hot Donutz race report: Well, I guess even the losers get lucky sometimes! Certainly this year was a much harder fought competition, and doubtful if I'll even be in the top three at next weekend's Spring Dinghy (which okay, I'm also going for a three peat in).

The name weta refers to a family of large insects in the New Zealand Archipelago. Roughly translated, weta means "God of ugly things." Nothing could be farther from the truth about the insect's namesake, a sexy 14-foot trimaran called the Weta that has been turning heads like crazy.
