Interview with Vadim Pushev (translated from Russian) -

Vadim is a master of sports, a yacht captain, a winner and champion of many international regattas in various classes, at present he is the head coach of the class 29er in the St. Petersburg Sailing Academy.

Vadim, can you tell us about your experience of using the WETA trimaran?
I've been testing the trimaran since its appearance in Russia and I'm enjoying training on it. High-tech trimaran WETA makes sailing fast, fun and easy without much effort. Even if you set the task to participate in serious competitions, you enjoy the process. I believe that this is the boat that does not require much time for preparation or collection - literally in 15 minutes from the beginning of the assembly you are already on the water. Everything is done for maximum pleasure and without the fuss. I like that WETA is suitable for single sailing and skill training, or going on holiday with the whole family.

Please tell me, how do you assess the dynamic characteristics of the WETA trimaran?
The main thing that gives sailing is exhilaration! Every athlete or amateur likes to go fast, well, or very quickly. WETA trimaran successfully combines the main body, fiberglass floats with a mast made of carbon. The trimaran is made so stable that it was approved for the Paralympic Games, it is a factor that speaks for itself. Unlike beach catamarans and most single-hulled boats, the WETA trimaran can safely be used in a strong wind up to 35 knots, by reducing the sail area - this speaks of the WETA trimaran as a very versatile boat.

Vadim, what do you think makes a trimaran popular among professionals and amateurs?
WETA trimaran has enough buoyancy to take on board 3 adults and move at a speed of 10-12 knots, can also accelerate the speed of more than 20 knots without much risk. WETA is the ideal boat in terms of stability and versatility. Children, even the smallest, feel safe, and they will learn, perhaps most importantly, about sailing: what are tons of fun! You can remove the floats, and then your trimaran will turn into an ordinary mono boat and will occupy little space. This transformation will take quite a bit of time. Of course, the greatest advantage for all the compactness and simplicity of the trimaran WETA is a boat that can reach speeds up to 20 knots, this is achieved thanks to the production of light materials that are correctly balanced in a compartment with simple armament. As far as I know, the WETA has class rules, racing fleets exist all over the world. According to developers, today more than 1500 copies have been sold. It would be interesting to take part and compete with famous racers!

At the Moscow Boat Show in the Crocus Expo from March 8 to 11, the WETA trimaran will be presented by SportsBoatRus at the stand of the Committee for Mass, Amateur and Student Sport (Hall No. 14), and test drives will be held, in which anyone can take part.
