A dozen Wetas gathered at Weston Sailing Club in bright sunshine and a fresh breeze for their first ever regatta weekend which was therefore designated 'the Nationals'. The Weta is the world's largest insect and gatherings of the class are referred to as swarms.

Five boats registered in this years Dave Irey Memorial Regatta at West River Sailing Club in Galesville, Maryland just south of Annapolis on the Chesapeake Bay on May 30-31.

After sailing a weta for a few hours. I have to say it quickly become one of my top 5 small sailboats of all time. Our Clearwater Sailing Center (Florida) received one on donation and fix her back up. Now it's always booked up every weekend.
