Pigeon Bay Regatta - South Island Weta Muster

The multihull 2-day regatta was centred on paper tigers which had the first start for each race, then a mixed fleet five minutes later including Hobie16s and Wetas (among others).

Finally after a crazy year of lockdowns and uncooperative weather we had a weekend of great sailing despite a tough first day. When you have dedicated Weta sailors making the long trek from the South Island for WetaFest you really want to make the event worthwhile.

What a glorious place. For those that didn’t make the trip to this regatta they missed a great weekend. Set in the middle of Waikato dairy farms the Ngaroto Sailing Club were excellent hosts and put on a good regatta in difficult conditions.

Weta Pickle Fork at Rotorua Sprints

What a weekend! The Sprint regatta was an excellent event superbly organised by the Rotorua Yacht Club. The format of continuous three minute starts was a real success with no time waiting between the 15 minute races. The 52 entries included A Cat, Tornado, PT, Hobie, 3.
