During the 2015-2016 season -

• Over 3400 students had a go at sailing
• 90% of kids who rated the day as AWESOME and indicated a desire to continue to sail

NZ WetaFest 2016 - A World Masters Games Warm Up

With just over one year to go until the World Masters Games, Weta sailors have had their first regatta using the WMG format of sprint and destination races.

A dinghy first created as a sideproject by two Campbells Bay sailors will be in the international spotlight next year. The Weta, a 4. 4 metre lightweight, recreational, beach trimaran is one of two classes of boat that sailors can race at the World Masters Games in April 2017.

Long Weta Weekend at Lake Brunner, NZ

Four Wetas sprung onto Lake Brunner this long weekend for a chance of racing in New Zealand's South Island. Two came from Timaru - Simon and Gordon, while Roelant and myself came from Christchurch.

As you know the November WetaFest 2015 in Tauranga was blown out with a stormy weekend causing a postponement. Disappointing…but we have good news. WetaFest 2016 will be held on March 12-13 in Auckland off Waiake Beach in Torbay.
