Weta Class North America kicked off their 2019 sailing season in St. Petersburg, Florida at the third annual Bluster on the Bay Regatta January 19-21.

Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Florida known for its big Fall wind was the site of 2018 Weta Nationals. Many of the out of town sailors enjoyed their week vacation and sailed for six days straight with racing November 2-4.

An extended Labor Day weekend of August 29th through September 2nd brought Weta sailors from North Carolina and Washington State together for the ultimate challenge to conquer their fears of the unknown at Cascade Locks, Oregon.

I got an excellent deal on hull #163 (obviously used) at the beginning of the season. She came with the original Gaastra sails which were crisp, but a little “dry” I would guess (I estimate they’re 7-8 years old).

West Coast Weta Happy 10th Anniversary! It was 10 years ago today that our beloved Wetas arrived on the west coast of the US. Ten boats (#148 - #157) arrived via container to Richmond Yacht Club to nine owners that had never seen one or sailed one.
