Kraziness at Kerr Lake

The first ever Weta East Coast Championships were held in conjunction with the 62nd Annual Governor’s Cup, June 14-16 at Kerr Lake in North Carolina. Eleven Wetas planned to race with a total of 103 boats.

Women Swarm WetaFest

Weta sailors swarmed Fort Walton Yacht Club for WetaFest April 11-14. A record breaking year included seven female skippers and three junior skippers in a fleet of 22.

Boca Ciega Bay Welcomes Wetas

There’s a first time for everything. Gulfport Yacht Club in Florida hosted their inaugural Weta regatta, March 1-3. Ten Wetas, 7 singlehanded and 3 doublehanded showed up for a weekend of fun.

A Sweet Treat

A last minute addition to the Florida schedule drew eight Weta sailors to the Cherry Pie Regatta at Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Florida on February 16th. Winds were howling, halyards were clanking and some technical difficulties left a few on the beach.

Fun in the Sun at Charlotte Harbor

Weta sailors officially came out of winter hibernation in time for Florida’s 10th annual Charlotte Harbor Regatta on February 1-3. On Thursday, the picturesque Port Charlotte beach quickly became jam packed as Wetas arrived becoming the largest fleet in this three day event.

Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Florida known for its big Fall wind was the site of 2018 Weta Nationals. Many of the out of town sailors enjoyed their week vacation and sailed for six days straight with racing November 2-4.
